Parade Entries

Thank you for your interest in the annual Fredericksburg Christmas Parade to be held Saturday, December 6, 2014. This community tradition in historic downtown Fredericksburg could not be possible without all of the amazing creativity and holiday spirit that our local groups and organizations bring to our downtown streets.  The parade will begin at 5:30 p.m. and is expected to last about 2 hours.

This year’s theme is, “All I Want For Christmas Is…”  All parade participants are encouraged to highlight this holiday theme in their Christmas parade entries.

Entry fees have been established to offset the costs of the Christmas parade.  The proceeds of the parade will go to funding the activities and needs of the children of Fredericksburg. This allocation of funds is in keeping with the tradition of giving back to the community that was always a part of the Fredericksburg Jaycees Christmas Parade.

 

CHRISTMAS PARADE ENTRY FEES

  • Commercial / Business Entries                          $250.00
  • Non-Profit Entries:                                               $175.00 (please provide status of your not-for-profit organization, i.e. IRS determination letter):

Please mail to or drop off at Dorothy Hart Community Center – 408 Canal St, Fredericksburg, VA 22401

 Please note: If you plan on entering more than 100 people with your organization, we will charge an additional $25.  If you enter into the Novelty category and have more than 30 people, you will be required to pay for two entries.

Each category has the chance to win a 1st place trophy as selected by our judges!

 

DEADLINE: November 1, 2014. There is a maximum of 100 entries into the parade. Registrations will be accepted until the maximum is reached or until the November 1 deadline, whichever comes first.

 

**Important notes before applying**

  • Each parade entrant is allowed (2) vehicles per entry
  •  A minimum of (2) pooper scoopers are required with equestrian entrants
  • If you are signing up in the novelty category you may only have 30 walkers, per entry. Additional fees will apply after that.
  • Please also state the type of vehicle you will be bringing, with dimension of float and towing vehicle.
  • All participants in the parade will be REQUIRED to attend the parade meeting, to be held again at the Dorothy Hart Community Center, November 12, 2014 at 6:30pm
  • The parade committee has selected the official Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus for the parade.  Therefore, in the best interest of the children, we ask that no other entry include and/or dress as Mr. or Mrs. Santa Claus.
  • In an effort to be fair if you have been in the front in the past year or two, please do not request the front again, most of our entries request to be in the front
